There is no single price for a professional business website. A small company site
with a few pages has different needs from an online shop, a multilingual platform
or a custom booking system. The useful question is: what work does your business
need the site to do?

For a Moroccan SME, a clear brief makes it easier to compare proposals and avoid
paying for features that do not support a real business goal.

## What changes the cost of a website?

### 1. The size and structure of the site

Start with the pages customers need: services, projects, about, contact, FAQs or
product categories. Each page needs a purpose, content and a route to the next step.
A site with many service pages, locations or product types takes more planning and
quality checks than a short brochure site.

### 2. Design and content

A proposal may include a tailored visual design, or it may adapt an existing theme.
It may also include writing, translation, photography, illustration or migration
of existing content. Ask who supplies each item and how many review rounds are included.

### 3. Features and integrations

Forms, online payments, appointment booking, customer accounts, inventory, shipping
rules, CRM connections and automated emails each add work. Specify what should happen
after a customer submits a form or places an order. This turns vague requirements
into features that can be estimated and tested.

### 4. Languages, mobile and accessibility

If you serve customers in French, Arabic or English, include translation and right-
to-left layout where needed. Confirm that key journeys work on mobile devices. A
responsive layout should be planned and checked as part of the project, not treated
as a last-minute extra.

### 5. Hosting, security and maintenance

Separate the one-time build from recurring costs such as domain renewal, hosting,
paid extensions, backups, updates and support. Confirm who owns the domain, hosting
account, website files and licences after handover.

## How to compare proposals

 * Ask for the page list, features and integrations included.
 * Request milestones, expected delivery dates and the client’s review responsibilities.
 * Check whether content, translation, training, migration and launch support are
   included.
 * Ask what is excluded and how extra work is priced.
 * Compare support terms, backups, update frequency and response times.
 * Confirm that you will receive administrator access and ownership of your site
   assets.

A lower initial quote can leave important work outside the scope. A higher quote
is useful only when its deliverables and responsibilities are clear. Choose the
proposal that fits your goals, budget and ability to maintain the site.

## Prepare a useful website brief

Write down your target customers, the services or products to promote, the locations
you serve, the languages required and the action you want visitors to take. Add
examples of sites you like and list any tools the website must connect to. DIGIST
can then recommend a scope before estimating the work.
